Audit of Town Construction Projects over $500,000 RE: Town Hall Renovations
Finance Director Mike Walsh initiated a general discussion of Town Charter Section 3.7 – 3.10, concerning audits of town construction projects, which was originally initiated after, and in response to, the Public Safety Complex construction project. BlumShapiro has proposed an “agreed upon procedure” for a cost of $8,200. This “agreed upon procedure” is considered a step below a full audit, but would meet the desires and expectations of the Investigation and Audit Committee. An audit would cost about twice that sum, approximately $15,000 to $18,000. A general discussion of the procedure followed. Once the proposal from BlumShapiro is approved by the Town Council and the letter of engagement is signed, the approximate time to complete the procedure is one month.

procedure as proposed by BlumShapiro to review the Town Hall
renovations project
